On Saturday, December 12 at 12:00 p.m. the Downtown Philadelphia Barnes & Noble will host a book signing event for This I Believe: Philadelphia.

This I Believe is an international non-profit organization engaging people in writing and sharing essays describing the core values that guide their daily lives. The project is based on the popular 1950s radio series of the same name, hosted by Edward R. Murrow. More than 125,000 of these essays have been archived on their website, thisibelieve.org. This new book contains 30 essays that originally aired as part of WHYY’s local This I Believe series in 2009-2010, and 30 essays from Edward R. Murrow’s original radio series, which began as a local Philadelphia program on WCAU.

Co-editors Dan Gediman and Elisabeth Perez-Luna will be discussing their book and signing copies. Special guests, Melissa Weiler Gerber, Francis W. Hoeber, Karina Sotnik, and Reverend Charles Howard, will be reading their essays from the inspirational title This I Believe: Philadelphia.
