Is this the ultimate Christmas jumper?

BRIXTON, U.K. - Nov. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- As doom and gloom abound, many of us are left feeling fearful, friendless and fretful. And so it's heartwarming - especially in the run up to Christmas - to hear a good news story. Especially one that involves social inclusion, fun and mighty-fine jumpers.

Inspired by a knitted charity shop find - that through evoking strong reactions, in friends and strangers alike, seemed able to spark conversations - Jesse Costelloe created www.orlandam.com.Orlandam is, essentially, a community of people connected through great knitwear. Each Orlandam jumper features a character with its own story. There are 9 characters, in total; from a bear who gives great hugs to a monkey who loves to dance.

To grow the brand – and to extend the community - the team are now running a crowdfunding campaign on indiegogo.com. Investors are invited to choose the character that best represents themselves, order a jumper and attend a London-based event – in January 2016 – to collect their knit, in person. And, better still, there's a £60 discount off the first 111 jumpers ordered through Indiegogo.

“I want to meet new people, bring my friends together, have some fun and circumvent the feelings of isolation that are all too common in big cities,” says Brixton-based Jesse. “Our mission is to build a great community - connected in both the digital world and the real world - using beautiful jumpers that feature spectacular characters.”

Orlandam jumpers are made from 100% merino wool, spun in Italy and made in Britain. And ownership grants access to exclusive offers and events through a members-only portal on the brand's website. The Orlandam story may be a feel-good one but it's a million miles away from being stuffy or worthy or preachy.
