MIAMI - Dec. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- For the past 3 years, Greg Pitts has spent his summers in Paris, inspired by the rich culture and artistic heritage of the city. He considers Paris a second home and was shocked and saddened by the recent events that shook the city.

This past summer, he visited the Pompidou Center (Centre Georges Pompidou). In addition to housing the Public Information Library, the Pompidou Center is home to the Musee' National d’Art Moderne - the largest museum of modern art in Europe. During his tour of the center, he was particularly moved by the sculpture “La Fontaine Stravinsky” - a sculpture comprised of 16 separate moving pieces displayed at the Place Stravinsky in the fountain adjacent to the center. He created a piece of art on the grounds of the center that depicts his interpretation of the Stravinsky Fountain. "When I saw the fountain, the sculpture and all the people sitting around it, how they were enjoying life and living, my hands and my brain would not rest until I painted something."

The terror attacks of November 13th deeply moved the artist, not only because of his love for the city and its people, but also, during his most recent visit, he often walked past the Bataclan nightclub that was targeted.

“The attacks were horrendous. They affected people from 19 different countries as well as several people native to Paris and France. I have friends in Paris that I’ve met over the past few years that knew some of the victims.” The artist has arranged to donate a portion of the proceeds of the sale of "Centre Pompidou" to aid the victims of the attack.

Mr. Pitts will be exhibiting the piece entitled “Centre Pompidou” along with other artworks, during Miami Art Week/Art Basel events at the World Wide Art Promotion Booth (Booth 520) at the Spectrum Miami 2015 Contemporary Art Show
