Healy Consultants finds why Slovenia is attractive for Chinese investors and entrepreneurs

Nov. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Last week Slovenia successfully hosted the Slovenian-Chinese Business Forum in Maribor, the country’s second largest city, in an effort to further boost business ties with China, the largest global investor.

Chinese entrepreneurs and investors believe Slovenia is a very attractive business destination due to its well-educated and robust work force, quality products and the country’s strategic geographical positioning.

Speaking at the event, a representative of the Chinese Development Bank Mr. Wang Yasheng said many of Chinese investors and entrepreneurs are considering Maribor for their business projects and the Chinese Investment Bank is willing to support such plans.

The Municipality of Maribor had in the past made a name for itself with the Chinese investors following a Chinese investment in a bus making company in the capital.

“ Maribor offers many business opportunities and is therefore attractive to investors from China. The Durabus Company, which produces buses in Maribor, is a good reference for investors who are interested in business cooperation with Maribor,” said Yasheng.

The China Development Bank conceptually supports Maribor’s projects in the field of waste and water treatment, infrastructure and other projects. We are also interested in export, because Slovenian products have the same quality as those from Germany. We are prepared to help Maribor with its new ideas,” he added.

Directors of Invest in Shanghai initiative reiterated that Slovenia is an exceptional country with a very good and attractive market and that the country’s products will be warmly welcomed in China. Additionally the agency will act as the coordinators between interested investors and entrepreneurs in both countries.

“Investing in Slovenian projects is an advantage, especially investing in Maribor due to its excellent location and the vicinity to Hungary, Austria and other European nations. In my opinion, future cooperation in the fields of city development, tourism, infrastructure and agriculture has the biggest potential. I consider Maribor to be suitable for our investments and thank the City Municipality of Maribor for organizing this important business forum,” another Chinese delegate pointed out.
