PRLog -- The Collection at RiverPark will be the hub of holiday festivities as the expansive dining and shopping destination prepares for its bustling line-up of holiday events and year-end promotions.
“This is such a special time for us here at The Collection because we take pride in hosting memorable events, such as our annual tree lighting ceremony and the CAN-tree Collection, which have become holiday staples, bringing thousands of families together in our community,” says Stefanie Muegel, Marketing Manager for The Collection. “With the major growth of our center this year introducing several new restaurants and shopping options, we saw an opportunity to offer more fun promotions we think families will love to participate in with great perks to help with their holiday shopping needs.”
The Collection Holiday Events Calendar:
XO, The Collection
Event Description: A mistletoe selfie stop on Collection Boulevard encourages guests to snap a photo under the mistletoe and post it to Instagram with #xothecollection. All photos will be entered to win a romantic date night at The Collection and the winning photo will be posted on the LED display on Christmas day.
Santa’s Arrival & Tree Lighting Celebration
Date: Saturday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Event Description: The Collection will officially kick-off the holiday season with a day-long celebration presented by Shorewalk Collection by McCarthy Homes. Santa will arrive at Park View Court in the morning and be greeted by a bustling welcome center complete with performers, activities, and holiday crafts. Family-
friendly activities and character meet-and-greets will continue throughout the day. At 7 p.m., guests are invited to Collection Park for the highly-anticipated The Collection Tree Lighting Celebration, which will feature a laser light show and fireworks display to cap off the evening. Photos with Santa will be available after the tree-lighting.
Bah-Hum-Bucks
Event Description: Everyone’s favorite holiday villain, Scrooge, can be spotted strolling through The Collection’s retail stores “bah-hum-bugging”
the holidays. As he speaks to shoppers at the cash registers, he experiences a change of heart and finds the holiday spirit. Lucky guests will be surprised when Scrooge helps them pay for their holiday purchases. He’ll also challenge guests to a Let’s Make a Deal type game for gift card giveaways.
Photos with Santa
Date: Nov. 21 – Dec. 24
Event Description: Bring the whole family down to The Collection for your annual holiday photos! Visit Santa at his house between Park View Court and Collection Park, Mondays – Thursdays from 3 – 8 p.m.; Fridays – Sundays from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Note: Closed on Thanksgiving. Open Dec 24 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Santa will occasionally be unavailable for photos when attending events.
Santa Paws Pet Photo Nights
Date: Wednesdays, Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, from 6 – 8 p.m.
Event Description: Furry family members need photos with Santa, too! Pets of all sizes are invited to visit Santa’s house between Park View Court and Collection Park.
Note: Closed on Thanksgiving. Open Dec 24 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Santa will occasionally be unavailable for photos when attending events.
Fa La Friday: Rewards Yule Love
Date: Friday, Nov. 27, from Noon-7 p.m.
Event Description: Shop at The Collection on Black Friday from Noon – 7 p.m. for rewards “yule” love. Guests can redeem same-day receipts at Guest Services and receive a Rewards Yule Love Scratch Card for every $100 spent on November 27
th. Scratch cards can be redeemed for gift cards valued up to $100 for The Collection stores. Guests can also get scratch cards at community events, such as the Santa to the Sea 5K Run, while supplies last.
CAN-Tree Collection
Date: Friday, Dec. 4 – Sunday, Dec. 6
Event Description: The Collection, in partnership with FOOD Share Ventura County and Cumulus Radio, is hosting the CAN-tree Collection holiday food drive Friday, Dec. 4 – Sunday, Dec. 6. The CAN-tree Collection is one of Southern California’s most popular holiday charity events, and will feature 300 holiday trees made from donated canned food items, and two giant holiday trees each made from 10,000 canned goods. The Collection guests and shoppers can participate in the magic by bringing cash or canned donations to contribute to a holiday tree. The festive weekend will also feature family-friendly Reindeer Games, activities, and crafts on Saturday and a Pajama Party with Mrs. Claus and hot chocolate bar on Sunday.
Ho Ho Happy Hour
Dates: Fridays, December 4, 11 and 18, from 2-3 p.m.
Event Description: Get to know our The Collection’s Guest Services team over complimentary hot chocolate and cookies to learn all about the services they provide.
Surfer Santa Gift Giveaway
Date: Mondays – Wednesdays, December 7-23
rd, from Noon – 3 p.m.
Event Description: Shop at The Collection weekdays between December 7 – 23, from noon – 3 p.m. to meet Surfer Santa and show him your holiday shopping list! Surfer Santa will choose “Surfer Santa Approved Gifts” from 2-3 retailers each day and label them with a custom tag. Take a selfie with Surfer Santa and upload it with a custom hashtag for a chance to win one of Surfer Santa’s Approved gifts. One Grand Prize winner will win all the items featured by Surfer Santa!
Breakfast with Santa
Date: Saturday, Dec. 12, at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Location: Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar
Event Description: The Collection and Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar are hosting two Breakfast with Santa events on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Join us for a festive morning of delicious food, fun, and photos with Santa! Tickets are $10 each (cash only) and can be purchased at Guest Services throughout the month of November.
