LOS ANGELES - Nov. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Philanthropist and CEO of Broidy Capital, Elliott Broidy, has expanded his credentials to film executive producer in an effort to help increase society’s awareness on worthy causes.  Elliott Broidy has committed to fulfilling various roles to raise awareness on important causes, including donating funds and utilizing personal resources, including his time and leveraging personal relationships.

“Sugar” follows a fictitious young girl, Sugar, who is homeless in Venice Beach. The film follows Sugar and her homeless friends as they navigate forming their own kind of family living on the streets of Los Angeles.

Elliott Broidy served as executive producer for this independent film.  He joined the crew after meeting with Director Rotimi Rainwater, whose personal experiences with homelessness are the basis for the movie. As a philanthropist working to improve Los Angeles, Elliott Broidy was committed to the films support for homeless youth in his hometown of Los Angeles and throughout the country.

Despite the film’s cultural and critical achievements, Rainwater gives credit to Elliott Broidy, the philanthropist who stood behind “Sugar.” “He’s been an amazing supporter of the film,” said Rainwater in an interview with Politico. “There’s so much that can get done if you have the right people who believe in you and thankfully people listen when he makes a call; hopefully we can make some changes.”

The film “Sugar” has been named the winner of the Manhattan Film Festival’s “Film Heals Award.” Dedicated to developing and discovering new ways to help filmmakers pursue a career out of filmmaking, the Manhattan Film Festival was recently named one of “25 film festivals worth the entry fee” by Movie Maker Magazine.

Elliott Broidy graduated with an MBA from the USC Marshall School Business. He went on to start Broidy Capital Management in 1991.
