TORONTO - Nov. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Did you know that tacos don’t enjoy being eaten? And those wishes you get in fortune cookies can take you on a magical journey? In the stories told by Christopher Smolej and Faith Emiry, these food facts are the truth. Last year, they entered the Kids Write 4 Kids creative writing contest and their tales were selected by our judging panel. They became published authors and the proceeds from the sales of their books were donated back to their schools. Now, with the launch of our fourth annual writing contest, Kids Write 4 Kids and the Ripple Foundation are looking for even more stories to read and pick to publish.

Faith Emiry is the author of Mika’s Fortune, a magical tale of fortune cookies that take a young girl and her mother on wild adventures. Faith was a grade 8 student at St. Mary Catholic School in Massey, Ont., when she wrote this epic tale.

Christopher Smolej was a grade 7 student at St. Anselm Catholic School in Toronto when he wrote Escape from the Taco Shop, a liberating tale of fast food that fights back. Escape from the Taco Shop was originally a classroom assignment and it is now one of Kids Write 4 Kids’ published titles.

Contestants can come from anywhere in Canada and must be in grades 4 – 8. All books are available for purchase at the Amazon Kindle Store, Apple iBookstore and Kobo Bookstore. They are also available in print through Amazon. Here, you can find all of our previous Kids Write 4 Kids winning titles, such as A Murder of Crows, Aristotle & Galileo, A Truly Gross Adventure, Why Peacocks Have Colorful Feathers, Half Asleep and The Wish.
