The Fashion Umbrella Foundation prepares for 2016

BALTIMORE - Nov. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- With 2015 event schedule in the past, the Fashion Umbrella Foundation is excited about the upcoming year.  From educational forums to an inaugural awards reception, the Fashion Umbrella is moving full speed ahead to ignite awareness on behalf of its two initiatives, the Back-to-School: Refresh, a program that awards school supplies for elementary school students; and the Educational Honors, a scholars program for students in grades 7 through 12.

“Although the organization is recognized in the community for its fashion industry involvement, we are ready and taking steps to expand the knowledge base of community members regarding our educationally focused programs for youth,” stated Sharan Nixon, President Fashion Umbrella Foundation.

Educators of elementary homerooms are invited to register for the Back-to-School: REFRESH.  Registration ends January 31st.

Student nominations and student self-nominations are being accepted now for the Educational Honors. For the inaugural awards reception in October 2016, the organization will select 10 students who will receive an award and be named as Fashion Umbrella Foundation Scholars.  Nominations are ongoing.
