KENT, Ohio - Nov. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Kent State University’s College of Business Administration will host its sixth annual Spirit of Women in Business Conference, entitled “Navigating and Negotiating,” on March 9, 2016, at the Kent State Student Center.

The conference has sold out the past three years, bringing together women from diverse professional backgrounds. Last year, more than 300 business professionals, along with undergraduate and graduate students from Northeast Ohio and beyond, attended the event.

The day-long conference includes a 60 minute keynote speech with Q&A, as well as three breakout sessions, each with presentation options for attendees to choose.

This year, Deborah Kolb, Ph.D., renowned expert in negotiation, leadership and gender, will be the keynote speaker. Kolb is a highly acclaimed author of seven books, as well as a globally recognized advisor to many of today’s leading women executives. She has worked with organizations such as Google, Time Warner, IBM, Ford Foundation, Unilever, MasterCard, Campbell Soup Company and several others.

Kolb received her Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College, Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado and her doctorate from MIT Sloan School of Management. She is the Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Professor for Women in Leadership and co-founder of the Center for Gender in Organizations at Simmons College School of Management. She was former executive director and is currently co-director of the Negotiations in the Workplace Project at Harvard Law School. Kolb also served as faculty research fellow at Stanford’s Clayman Institute for Gender Research and is adjunct faculty at INSEAD.

The college expects the conference to be a sell-out event, as in years past, with an audience of students, faculty, staff and regional corporate professionals. “We are very excited to bring an engaging and interactive keynote speaker to the event,” said Kristin Williams, director of the College’s Career Services Office and chairman of the conference. “We also look forward to welcoming additional corporate partners who are serving as session presenters this year.”
