KENT, Ohio - Nov. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Warren Anderson, president of Anderson-Dubose Co., will speak to Kent State’s College of Business Administration students at the Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) about “Philosophies on Entrepreneurship" on Monday, Nov. 23.

Anderson-DuBose Co., a logistics and supply chain business, was founded in 1991 by Anderson and his college friend, Steve DuBose. The company provides paper and food supplies to more than 500 McDonald’s and Chipotle restaurants in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. The Anderson-DuBose Co. headquarters is in Lordstown, Ohio, with a distribution center in Rochester, New York.

“Students will be made aware of the many obstacles that may disrupt their entrepreneurial vision,” said Anthony Milia, entrepreneurship major at Kent State and treasurer of CEO. “This is not to discourage students to give up, but to inspire them to try harder.”

The Anderson-DuBose Co. has grown to be the largest minority-owned business in the state of Ohio. It is annually ranked on Black Enterprise Magazine’s list of the 100 largest black-owned businesses in the United States.

CEO is a nationally affiliated student organization that fosters the development of entrepreneurial skills in its members and is open to all majors. Meetings are held every Monday at 7pm in room 123A of the College of Business Administration and often include outside speakers, question-and-answer sessions and workshops to build students’ understanding of the entrepreneurial experience.

Anderson received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He has earned several awards throughout his career, including Crain’s Leading Edge Award in 2012, recognition as an Ohio Cancer Research Associates Singular Sensations Honoree in 2009, induction into the Inside Business Magazine Business Hall of Fame in 2006, recognition as Ohio Minority Supplier Firm of the Year by Minority Business Development Center in 2002 and recognition as Male Entrepreneur of the Year by the U.S. Department of Commerce (MBDA) in 2002.

“I asked Anderson to speak to CEO because not only does he run a top minority-owned business in Ohio, but he demonstrates great leadership skills and has the heart of a true entrepreneur,” said Milia.

The meeting is located in room 200A at the College of Business Administration building at 7 p.m.
