New Pain Management Retreat with Dr. Li Zheng and Dr. Jing Fan in Boca Raton, FL

NEEDHAM, Mass. - Nov. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- For the millions of Americans living with chronic pain, treatment options can feel very limited. Long-term use of painkillers may cause irreparable side effects like liver and kidney damage. Surgeries can alleviate certain kinds of pain, but the trauma and resulting scar tissue may result in pain of other types.

If you are ready to reduce the pain you suffer once and for all, the Pain Management Retreat with Drs. Li Zheng and Jing Fan may be a great event for you. Dr. Li Zheng is a Chinese acupuncturist and herbalist with over 26 years of clinical experience treating chronic muscle and nerve pain and lectures extensively about the use of acupuncture in pain management for chemo/radiation patients.  She practices in Florida at Boca Raton Acupuncture Clinic and in Needham, MA at Boston Chinese Acupuncture.

Dr. Jing Fan is an orthopedic surgeon trained in Chinese medicine and an Associate Chief Physician at the Jiangsu Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China.  He is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles on knee pain, osteoporosis and soft tissue injury. Together, they will give you the tools you need to manage your pain and feel healthier and happier in the New Year!

The Pain Management Retreat will span two days.  Registration will begin in the afternoon of Saturday, January 2, 2016.  After introductions, Dr. Fan will teach a traditional qigong class that focuses on strengthening the tendons and muscles, thus promoting strength, flexibility, balance and coordination of the body. Afterwards, Dr. Fan will perform Chinese tuina to balance the muscles and tendons around the joints where you have pain.

On Sunday, January 3, there will be a full day of activities and treatments with Drs. Zheng and Fan. The morning will begin with a talk on healthy eating that focuses on reducing pain-causing inflammation in your joints.  Next, Dr. Fan will be teaching a course on tai chi and Dr. Zheng will demonstrate acupressure points you can learn to press yourself to prevent and relieve pain from the comfort of your home.  After all that exercising in the morning, the afternoon will be reserved for relaxation.  Depending on your condition, you can get acupuncture from Dr. Zheng, additional tuina from Dr. Fan or both.  Following these individual treatments, you will be able to sample some common Chinese herbs and ask final questions to Drs. Zheng and Fan.

The cost of this two-day retreat is $150 with a 10% early bird discount available to attendees who book before December 15, 2015.  Don’t miss your chance to get expert health tips from practitioners with over 40 years of combined experience in pain management medicine!  Considering that a single acupuncture session typically costs $80-$100, this retreat is an excellent opportunity to experience the many facets of traditional Chinese medicine at a reasonable price!
