Cedar Lake Cellars Presents New Winter Menu

ST. LOUIS - Nov. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Cedar Lake Cellars, a year-round winery and event venue, recently introduced its new winter menu.

New salads include the Cedar seven layer winter salad, which consists of field greens, dried cranberries, toasted pecans, feta cheese, diced tomatoes, croutons and oranges topped with the winery’s ’57 Chevy dressing.  Lunch menu items include a Cedar mac & cheese with Black Forest ham and butter-roasted bread crumbs, as well as a grilled roasted turkey and smoked gouda whole wheat wrap with Merlot apple butter.  Dinner additions include a grilled Irish meatloaf made with Guinness-soaked steel cut oats baked with Jamison whiskey gravy.

The winery offers a rotating list of fresh cheeses from Golden L Creamery in Silex, Mo., Heartland Creamery in Newark, Mo., and Milton Creamery in Milton, Iowa.  Seasonal meats and sausages are purchased from Behrmann Meat and Processing in Albers, Ill., and bread is provided by Companion Baking.  All fruits and vegetables are bought from local vendors including Lakeview Farms in St. Peters, Mo., McCann’s Forest Farms in Woodstock, Ill., and Seven Cedars Farms in Jonesburg, Mo.

Cedar Lake Cellars is open year-round Fri. through Sun. from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for those 21 and older with live music scheduled throughout the weekend.  “Grab and go” lunch service is available from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and full-service dining from 5 to 9 p.m.  Guests are invited to eat their meals near the winery’s three-acre lake where picnic benches and grassy areas are perfect for outdoor dining.

The winery recently introduced its newest wine line, 3 Swans, to celebrate its fifth anniversary.  Cedar Lake Cellars also features 15 wines from Missouri and California under its own private label, Tastings of the Cellars, as well as approximately 25 additional "Wines of the World" from other regions.  The company serves its signature wine slushies in a variety of flavors plus domestic, imported and craft-bottled and draft beers.
