SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Nov. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Riccardo Accurso, a master jeweler and artist known as Ricco, announces his new line of custom, handmade diamond engagement rings and fine jewelry.

Ricco creates rings that are destined to become modern classics. "My goal is to design elegant, simple rings with the contemporary couple in mind — rings that will stay in style for a lifetime," he says. He designs for both men and women, including LGBT couples, and he can pair the engagement rings with wedding rings to create a matched custom suite.

With more than 40 years of experience, Ricco specializes in unique metal designs. The new line features several original styles with one or more diamonds, available in a choice of metals: 14, 18 or 22K white, rose or yellow gold, palladium gold, or platinum. He has access to top-quality antique diamonds that many couples request now to avoid purchasing conflict stones.

"I am a painter as well as a jeweler, and I bring the eye of the painter to my jewelry designs," he explains. So it's not surprising that some of the engagement rings he creates feature colored stones such as sapphires and rubies, in combination with diamonds.

Inspiration for Ricco's rings comes from several sources: classical design, such as that practiced by the Greeks and Romans; the organic forms found in nature, and his personal experience of living and working in Greece, Spain and Argentina.

Clients may choose from the rings featured on his website, http://www.riccoartjewelry.com, or may work with him directly — including remotely — to develop another style that reflects their unique preferences.

All of the work is done by the artist's hand, not by the computerized machines that have become increasingly common in the jewelry industry. "An engagement ring signifies a promise — a lifetime promise — and should be destined to become an heirloom. I just don't think that a robot can produce that type of meaning, of soul," Ricco says.

Ricco Gallery of Contemporary Art has a physical location in a 1763 house in Shepherdstown, WV, in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore metro area. For more information, call 304-870-4175 or email: ellen@riccoartjewelry.com.
