Celebrate Summer in Winter with Arts Unbound

Orange, NJ: Ward off the winter blues with Arts Unbound, the gallery and studio dedicated to artists with disabilities and seniors. This winter season we are celebrating all things summer with our Summer in Winter exhibit, beginning with an opening reception on Thursday, December 3 from 5:00-8:00pm.

The exhibit will feature a wide range of mediums including mixed media collage, acrylic, oil paint, colored pencils, and digital photography. Since we can’t entirely escape the winter, there will be a selection of holiday cards for sale designed by Christian Markovic at Fuzzy Wuzzy Designs.

Featured artists include Arts Unbound returning artists Kristen Zachares of Montclair, Theda Sandiford of Jersey City, Ronaldo Byrd of Burlington, Gregory Smith of Livingston, Joseph Cardillo of Brick Township, Tom Wade of Springfield, Brad Friedman of Kansas, and Larry Hurst of Oregon. Artists Andrew Weatherly and Romelia Jones will be exhibiting at Arts Unbound for the first time.

In addition to the opening reception, join us for a BYOB Beach Party with music, refreshments, and fun, on Friday, January 15, 6-9pm!

The show will be on display through Saturday, September 5 during the gallery’s regular operating hours.

Arts Unbound is dedicated to the artistic achievement of people living with disabilities and seniors. They provide visual arts education and professional development to help emerging artists compete on the retail market. By promoting the work of artists with disabilities and seniors, Arts Unbound centers their art-making rather than any impairments and by doing so challenges the stigma associated with disability and aging.

The gallery is located in the Valley Arts District at 544 Freeman Street, in Orange.
