BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Nov. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Nailah Lymus, the New York-based fashion and business maven who founded the modest modeling agency, Underwraps, and apparel and accessories line, Amirah Creations, announced the dates for the YES Market Workshop and Pop Up Shop events for 2015.

Taking place in the Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, YES--which stands for Young Entrepreneurial Showcase—is a series of educational and empowerment events launched by Ms. Lymus as a way to give back to her community. The program began at the Clara Muhammad School at the Masjid Khalifah in Brooklyn, where Ms. Lymus was a teacher. Designed to teach children in the community (ages 8 through 16) about starting and running a business, the Pop Up Shop event provides a platform for young entrepreneurs to network, promote and sell their products and services to their community. The one- day event will take place on Saturday, November 21st in Saratoga Park (located at the corner of Howard Avenue and Halsey Street).

“Growing up with parents that encouraged creative expression and an entrepreneurial way of thinking, I began a jewelry line at the age of 7 which was very successful,” said Lymus. “I know from experience that supporting our youth, their opportunities to flourish and operate their own businesses creates a future full of endless possibilities.”

After successfully hosting smaller events in the past, Ms. Lymus attracted local businesses in the community including Carver Federal Savings Bank, teamed up with the businesswoman to host a free workshop for YES Market participants on Thursday, November 12th at their Restoration Plaza Branch located at 1392 Fulton Street.

"Carver's reason for partnering with the Y.E.S Market, is because of their overall involvement with the youth in the community," says Dannette Sullivan-Hyatt, Branch Manager, Carver Bank Restoration Plaza.  "We feel that this initiative will keep these kids on the right track to making a positive mark in society. Whatever in instilled in these kids at this impressionable time of their lives will live on throughout adulthood and beyond. We are humbled to play a part in this great initiative."

Parents of past participants including Abd Al Majeed Leito whose daughter, Bahiyah Leito (owner of her own company, Bahiyah’s Baked Bites) strongly supports Nailah’s program and encourages others to participate as well. “I’m vested in this program because the African American Muslims have to retake the initiative in society and give the true picture of Islam. Promoting independent business life is just one area of interest. This is how we build the wealth of individuals and communities. What better place to start than with children?”

Space is limited to only 18 participants for this year’s events so interested families should contact Ms. Lymus via email at underwrapsagency@aol.com  or via phone at (646) 384.4334 as soon as possible.
