PANDORA Store in Killeen to Give Back to Local Hero

KILLEEN, Texas - Nov. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- The PANDORA store in Killeen is giving back to local hero Elizabeth Laird, an avid army supporter who is facing a difficult battle with cancer. Five percent of proceeds from all sales on Saturday, Nov. 21 will be donated to Laird to help with the cost of her expensive medical treatments.

Laird, better known as the “Hug Lady,” has spent the last decade hugging every single military man or woman who has deployed from the Killeen/Fort Hood Regional Airport. Laird has been fighting cancer since 2003, but was recently told it had moved to her bones and she could no longer live alone. Hundreds of soldiers who have been recipients of Laird’s hugs are returning the love by raising money for her treatments via a GoFundMe page. (https://www.gofundme.com/389hdh4c)

The PANDORA store in Killeen has been an active and avid supporter of the military community and knew this was something it wanted to be a part of immediately.

“We’ve been fortunate to have been embraced by the Killeen community and giving back to the military is so important to us,” said Trey Bailey, co-owner of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry, the North Carolina-based jewelry store that owns the Killeen PANDORA. “We’ve always known about Mrs. Laird and the incredible love and encouragement she gives to our troops, so as soon as we heard about her condition we knew we wanted to help. We’re honored to be able to support Mrs. Laird and our soldiers through this special donation day on Saturday.”

PANDORA is best known for its customizable charm bracelets and lines of rings, earrings and necklaces. The fundraiser will run during normal store hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The store is located in the Killeen Mall at 2100 South W S Young Drive.
