Follow on Google News | Thread Honcho: They're an American BrandNew leather and canvas accessories brand, Thread Honcho, vows to make all of its products in the USA.
By: Thread Honcho Business partners Joel Rusnak and Cheryl Andonian knew first hand the effects that Asian manufacturing has had on industry in the USA. They have both been in the footwear business and could see an alarming trend in that industry. As Asian manufacturing sources started raising their prices and/or shuttering their doors, resources overseas were drying up for small brands. Large brands dominate the ever dwindling factory resources and the price gap between Asian and domestic manufacturing is starting to close. The duo decided to take their skills and knowledge in design, manufacturing and branding from the footwear business and create a small accessories brand that would utilize existing manufacturing resources at home. Thread Honcho was born. The line consists of small men’s and women’s leather goods like wallets, pouches and key fobs, along with canvas bags and accessories. All of their products are designed in their studio in MA and are all made in New England and the Midwest. Many of their pieces are not only designed and manufactured in the USA, but are also made from 100% USA sourced materials as well. “We are really design driven and we commitment to manufacturing at home,” says Andonian. “We wanted to show that cleverly designed products can still be made in the USA. As a matter of fact, we believe that we are on the cusp of a return to domestic manufacturing. It’s becoming more and more important to consumers to know where their goods are being made. Consumers are savvy and are no longer just interested in getting a good buy. They know that a cheap price comes at a cost of not only getting an inferior product, but at the cost of American jobs also. They understand the meaning and the impact that American manufacturing has on our economy and on the country as a whole.” For more information on Thread Honcho, please visit their website at http://www.threadhoncho.com.
