Go Santa Go 5k Comes to Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio - Nov. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- NR Road Racing will hold the Go Santa Go 5k for the first time ever in Dayton on Sunday December 13 at 11:00 AM. The event will be held at Island MetroPark (101 E. Helena Street Dayton, Ohio 45405). A portion of the proceeds from the Go Santa Go 5k will go to the Maple Tree Cancer Alliance. Race registration is $40 for individuals. There will be a $5 price increase on November 13. All ages are welcome, however, anyone 12 and older must be registered. Join thousands of Santas & Elves as we hit the streets for the first time ever in Dayton! Get your family and friends and choose to be Santa or Elves and join us for annual Go Santa Go. Every participant will receive their choice of a Santa shirt, hat and beard or an Elf shirt and hat to wear while running. Enjoy holiday music, candy, and cookies along the course. Spread the holiday joy by bringing a $10 unopened / unwrapped child’s toy to donate.

Maple Tree Cancer Alliance is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals afflicted with cancer by focusing on their physical and spiritual health. The work of Maple Tree Cancer Alliance is deeply rooted in the personal experience of its Founder and Director, Dr. Karen Wonders. Her passion to study the effects of proper nutrition and exercise in the battle against cancer was inspired by the memory of her grandfather, Robert Kellermann, whose lifelong love of personal fitness only seemed to grow after he was diagnosed with the disease while in his early eighties. The positive impact of exercise on Mr. Kellermann’s health and quality of life had a lasting impression on Dr. Wonders who sought to honor his memory by making cancer research her life’s work.
