New Anti-Bullying Initiative Launches to Help Kids and Parents “Stand Up and Stand Strong”

CLEVELAND - Nov. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Anti-Bullying advocate and Cleveland native Auguste Moone has launched a new campaign to help pre-teens, teens and parents across the city called “Stand Up, Stand Strong, Stand Together.” The initiative is dedicated to effectually addressing and creatively diminishing the bullying epidemic that is present in the lives of many individuals, families, and groups.

Moone said even though the program is rooted in Ohio, he believes it will grow to influence people around the world through its distribution of books, educational materials, and workshops. He has also developed a book for students titled “The Stand Up Crew.” This book gives readers an in-depth understanding of bullying from the perspective of the bully, the victim, and the bystander. However, it also provides viable solutions to combat bullying scenarios through relatable dramatizations.

The theme “The Stand Up, Stand Strong” stems from Moone’s past experiences as a child who was bullied while in school. He incorporated experiences into messages to help educate others on the effects bullying can cause to a person both mentally and physically.

Throughout his research Moone has found that one out of every four students (22%) report being bullied during the school year (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015). Due to the alarming amount of statistical data Moone’s “Stand Up” curriculum has been able to teach students the importance of standing up for themselves, how to build self-confidence and reporting the abuse to an adult.
