DENVER - Nov. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- DENVER, Nov. 11, 2015 -- “A good fit means everything,” says Cindy Johnson, co-founder of Denver’s SOL (https://www.solgirl.com/sol-story), the largest women-owned, independent bra retailer in the U.S.

So, when SOL started outgrowing its retail cup, Johnson and Jeanie Peterson, co-owners and sisters (https://www.solgirl.com/sol-story), took their advice and announced a springtime move into a larger store.  In April 2016, SOL will relocate to 3010 E. 6th Ave. (E. 6th Ave. and Milwaukee St.), just 3 blocks north of the current location, still remaining in the boundaries of its native Cherry Creek neighborhood.

“After 18 years of talking to women about ‘fit, size and confidence,’ it was time for us to do the same,” Peterson said.  “We’ve been growing with the changing ‘figure’ of Denver’s women who are more empowered than ever – culturally, personally and economically.  And our larger location will help us provide more of what our modern customer, who also is busier than ever, is craving:  more service, more space and more convenience.  They’ve been listening to us for all these years, and this relocation is about listening to our amazing customer’s growing needs.”

The new SOL location will feature the trademark Tuscan style, with the large columns, unique tiles and bright décor -- inspired by Johnson and Peterson’s European trips to source extraordinary bras, pajamas, and bra-sized swimwear. The 67 percent larger, 3,400-square-foot flagship store will be devoted to spacious fitting rooms, increased showroom space and offices for the whole SOL team.  A private, 12-space parking lot enhances the new location, as well.

While Tuscany inspires the interior, everything about the exterior celebrates Colorado businesses. In fact, for the remodel of the new building, SOL is working with all Colorado-based architects, construction teams and design experts.

Johnson and Peterson founded SOL in 1997, with the goal of creating a fun bra-fitting destination to help women be confident and find beauty within their own skin.  With the purpose of celebrating the figures of all women, SOL quickly became Denver’s top lingerie store and changed the way women shopped for bras.  The sisters have welcomed over 60,000 women into their “SOL sisterhood.”  As real sisters and business pioneers, it’s no surprise that Johnson and Peterson earned the nickname, “the SOL sisters.”

The focus in the store is fitting, and SOL has earned a national reputation for its trained, career fitters (https://www.solgirl.com/meet-our-fitters) who complete a two-month, bra-fitting course.  SOL’s fitters have built long-term relationships with their customers, some spanning 18 years, as well as their customers’ confidence.  Their customer-centric consultations and personal attention have made SOL a Denver destination.

“The SOL approach is about helping women feel good about themselves, inside and out.  A ‘true fit’ becomes a metaphor for so much more in their lives, and getting properly fitted can be empowering,” added Johnson.  “A bra affects a woman’s happiness, confidence and shape.  And we love to be part of that investment in themselves, as well as the transformation.”

SOL extends its “soulful” mission into the community (https://www.solgirl.com/sol-community), giving back to five organizations that help women and children. SOL donates gently-used bras for homeless women who are assisted by The Gathering Place; donates smaller bras for girls who have survived sex trafficking through Free the Girls; raises funds for breast cancer research through 5K races and fashion shows for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure; generates awareness for The Morgan Adams Foundation to help children with cancer; and recycles all of its old billboards and window displays into re-usable tote bags through Billboard Ecology.

“SOL is a place you can laugh, share stories, let loose and have fun with your ‘SOL sisters.’  The spring location and bigger store will make space for new fittings, new stories and even more laughter,” Peterson said.
