SaneBox Launches Free 10-Day Course To Help Enrollees Save Hours in Email Each Week

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- SaneBox, the popular email management tool whose mission is to help the world hate email less, announced today the official launch of the Inbox Zero Academy, a free 10-day course that aims to help participants take back control of their inboxes in just 10 minutes per day. The course draws from SaneBox’s years of research and thought leadership in the area of email management, and covers topics ranging from email triage to email etiquette and security.

“Without question, email has established itself as the single most significant communication channel in today’s business world. While there are huge advantages to this form of communication—for instance, bringing together workforces that are distributed throughout the country and world—it has also become a huge burden and timesuck for busy professionals everywhere,” said SaneBox’s Rachel Dotson, co-creator of the Inbox Zero Academy. “The problem is that using email is in many ways akin to applying to jobs or managing money after college—we all need to do it, but many of us were never taught the proper way how, so there is a lot of frustration and missed opportunity as a result.”

The course is broken down into 10 daily lessons, which, perhaps somewhat ironically, are sent to enrollees via email. Each lesson consists of a few-minute instructional read, followed by one or more action items that aim to help participants practice and internalize the lessons learned. According to the academy’s creators, each lesson is designed to offer quick and immediate value in the way of time saved on email.

“The average office worker sends and receives over 120 business emails per day and spends 28% of the workweek managing email,” Dotson said. “That is a staggering amount of time in lost productivity on the job. What’s more, when you think about non-business email exchanges and our always-connected relationship with mobile technology, email management has also crept in and taken a commanding hold on our personal time.”

Dotson said the idea for Inbox Zero Academy arose when a couple of then-new SaneBox team members reported on how much happier and more productive they felt after adopting the company’s internally circulated email best practices.
