DETROIT - Nov. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- With staggering numbers of unresolved and untold missing person cases throughout the United States, The MD Fund is a “hands on” resource for families as they search for their loved ones. The organization focuses on cases that have gone cold. In the eyes of The MD Fund, the definition of a cold case is any family that has not been able to locate a missing loved one for an extended period of time.

Through investigative research, social media, and individuals or organizations currently involved with respective cases, The MD Fund provides strategic approaches and potential solutions for these families. In addition, the organization offers recovery and reunification assistance.

One of the key aspects of The MD Fund’s investigative process is to create awareness of the missing person’s or persons’ story.  The MD Fund works very closely with family members to share their story with the public through media, social media, and related visibility efforts. They re-ask the family member(s) specific questions that may have been forgotten over time. Answers to these questions may provide important information that may help to identify whereabouts of the missing individuals.

The MD Fund was founded by Jodi Homaune, a mother who experienced the trauma and heartache in searching for her own daughter who was parentally abducted and missing for 802 days. As a result of Homaune’s personal experiences of research, recovery and reunification after rescuing her daughter out of Iran,The MD Fund has the ability to focus on an individual case in detail, the strategic resources to search for the missing person(s), and the time required to accomplish this. Moreover, the group maintains day-to-day contact with family members and is available to them 24/7.

“Having a missing loved one is an immeasurable traumatic and heartbreaking experience,” said Homaune. “Through the complexities of locating the missing person, a family’s life often unravels emotionally, physically, and financially. During the turmoil, the members find themselves in limbo, not knowing what to do or where to turn for help.”

“The MD Fund is a resource for families to lean on during their journey to find their loved ones and be a strong ‘helping hand’ during recovery and reunification,” added Homaune. “We are a ‘fresh set of eyes’ for family members and we provide a ray of comfort and hope.”

Along with founding director Homaune, The MD Fund boasts a growing team of volunteers with respective expertise who assist in various service areas including investigation, reunification, project management, and fundraising. Moving forward, The MD Fund plans to develop a support group for individuals who have experienced the loss and recovery of their loved ones and are in the process of healing.

Some of The MD Fund’s current cases are highlighted on the organization’s website, www.themdfund.com. Detailed information about The MD Fund, including ways and opportunities to become involved are also found at this site.
