PITTSBURGH - Nov. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The Pines of Mount Lebanon will recognize 13 residents who served in the U.S. Armed Forces as part of a special Veterans Day event.

“Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, it truly is our honor to put them into the spotlight on Veterans Day,” said Butch Cassiday, Assistant Executive Director, Pines of Mount Lebanon, a senior living community in Pittsburgh. “With the support of our team and the community, we have a special day planned.”

Entertainment will be provided for the veterans as well as all the residents of the senior living community located at 1537 Washington Road in Mount Lebanon.  Frank LaVelle, well-known in the Pittsburgh area as the “Entertainer Extraordinaire,” will perform from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A luncheon will follow for the veterans. Retired Air Force Master Sergeant John DeLallo of VFW Post 694 will be the featured speaker.

“Applebee’s Restaurant will provide the catered lunch for our veterans,” Cassiday said. “This is a great community service.”

Copies of a special poem will be distributed to the veterans.

“We are thankful for the service of the men and women who protect our country every day,” Cassiday said. “It is even more significant to recognize this service on Veterans Day.”
