Hollywood Music In Media Awards Nomination

SAN FRANCISCO - Nov. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- "Haves & Have Nots", a new track by San Francisco-based ensemble COPUS, was recently nominated for 'best jazz song' by the Hollywood Music in Media
Awards.  Winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 11, at the Ford
Theater in Hollywood.  Submissions come from around the world; there are
170 nominations and 6 in the jazz category.

The HMMA has been increasing its powerful presence in recognizing excellence in film and music for the past 6 years.  They consider themselves the preamble to the Grammy Awards. “Since its inception, the HMMA has nominated or awarded individuals and productions well before receiving a nod from traditional award events, and this year is no exception.”

"Haves & Have Nots" is one of the 10 original tracks on the album.  COPUS was co-founded by poet/spoken word artist Royal Kent and composer/pianist Wendy Loomis 15 years ago.  In addition to Loomis and Kent, the full ensemble includes flutist Monica Williams bassist Patrick Mahon, and drummer Greg McRay, along with guest artists.
