J.b. Dondolo, Inc. Launches Clean Water Campaign To Benefit Igusi Hospital

DALLAS - Nov. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- J.B. Dondolo, Inc. today announced the launch of their campaign to raise money to renovate the water system at Igusi Hospital and a nearby school. Igusi Hospital is in the rural area of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe. There is currently no potable water in the area. The fundraiser’s goal is $22,000, an amount that will allow J.B. Dondolo to suppress lime coming from the water source so that clean and safe water flows into the pipelines. The amount includes the cost of a water pump station, plumbing supplies, and the labor to complete the plumbing renovation for the hospital. Once the water is flowing, J.B. Dondolo will then be able to provide water to Igusi High School, just 200 yards from the hospital, as well as repair the bath facility and toilets at Igusi Hospital. Replacing the current dry toilets with working plumbing will improve health and sanitation at the hospital.

“We are thrilled to kick this project off and bring potable water to those who really need it,” says Ronda Bowen, J.B. Dondolo, Inc.’s fundraising coordinator. “This kick-off project will help us to complete further renovations of the hospital, and bring a greater level of healthcare to this area that desperately needs it.”

“They say where there’s water there’s life!” says Lumbie Mlambo. “I don’t think humans can function without water. Maybe for a day or two they can. But, try that for weeks or months. No life can exist. If there’s no clean water, there’s no water, period. We need to get clean water to Igusi. I can’t stress that enough!”

The water system renovation is part of Phase I of J.B. Dondolo’s Hospital Hope project. While the hospital is the critical component of this phase, this first phase of the renovations at Igusi Hospital includes painting walls, replacing the doors, windows, and roof, and fixing cracked walls and floors in order to provide a safe environment for patients.

Donations from the “Clean Water for Igusi Hospital” campaign at GoFundMe will go toward the installation of the clean water system and aforementioned renovations involved with the renovation. Donations are tax deductible.
