CHINO, Calif. - Nov. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Agromin’s new Chino organics recycling facility is turning green waste collected from surrounding cities into 100 percent organic compost that is used by local growers and commercial landscapers. Agromin, one of the largest green recyclers in California, hopes to produce50,000 tons of organic compost each year at the location.

The five-acre site on Chino Corona Road receives green waste from residents and businesses in Burbank, Corona, Eastvale, Norco, Riverside and Mira Loma.

Once received, non-recyclable items (i.e., plastics, clothing, metals) are removed from the material. The green material is then ground and spread into long “wind rows” that are turned and watered for about 60 days. The material is naturally composted by microorganisms. It contains no chemicals or animal or human waste.

Agromin is producing three products in Chino: Compost 100, ES-2 cover mulch and Garden Humus. Its Compost 100 is approved for use in USDA certified organic production and food processing and is Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) listed. Agromin’s ES-2 mulch is for orchard applications and for use in public works locations and other landscape projects. It meets California Department of Transportation specifications. Garden Humus is designed for sandy soils as it adds structure, nutrients and microbes to the soil to promote healthy plant growth.

Agromin’s products are used in the local agriculture and landscape markets including both new construction and maintenance projects.

“Residents who put their green waste into their recycling bins are enabling local farmers to grow organic, chemical-free produce,” says Bill Camarillo, Agromin CEO. “They are also helping cities to become more sustainable. Organic material that would have otherwise ended up in landfills emitting harmful gases will be transformed to become part of new residential and public landscaping.”

About Agromin:

Agromin manufactures earth-friendly soil products for farmers, landscapers and gardeners. Agromin is also the composter for over 50 California cities. Each month, Agromin receives more than 30,000 tons of organic material and then uses a safe, natural and sustainable process to transform the material into soil products. The results are more vigorous and healthier plants and gardens, and on the conservation side, the opportunity to close the recycling loop, allow more room in landfills and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. www.agromin.com
