Juvenile driver in deadly crash with stolen car in court; Attorney Berry legal expert for CBS-12

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The 15-year-old juvenile who was driving a stolen car when he allegedly hit another car and killed a passenger in that car in Boca Raton was in court to face a judge. The juvenile was brought into the West Palm Beach courtroom in a wheelchair, as both of his legs were broken in the accident which caused the death of a mother of two when the defendant's stolen car hit the car she was riding in.

Prosecutors have yet to decide if they will charge the juvenile as an adult or a minor in the case. CBS Channel 12 reported that the juvenile does have a lengthy arrest record which could play into the prosecution's decision.

In his first part of the interview in this follow up feature story Mr. Berry explains that state prosecutors will have 21 days to decide whether to charge the juvenile as a minor or as an adult.

In the second part Mr. Berry describes that if the juvenile is charged as a minor that the goal with minors is to "try and rehabilitate; so a lot of times things like probation or maybe even short term programs might be appropriate to get the kid back on track."

Mr. Berry was not asked on camera for his feelings specifically related to the juvenile and his previous lengthy arrest record in this particular case.
