Financial Planning Day Returns to Elizabeth, NJ - Bring Your Questions About Your Personal Finances!

Nov. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Montclair, NJ (November 2015) - The Financial Planning Association of New Jersey(FPANJ) will present its Financial Planning Day in Elizabeth, NJ on Saturday, November 14 at Trinitas Center of Regional Education (CORE) 1164 Elizabeth Avenue from 10 am - 2 pm. This free public event is part of FPANJ's mission to promote financial literacy, which is vital to everyone, no matter the size of their financial portfolio.

This is the second year of the event, and organizers hope to repeat and exceed the success of last year's gathering. FPANJ joins three other national non-profit organizations - Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., Financial Planning Association of NJ®, the Foundation for Financial Planning and the US Conference of Mayors - to offer the Financial Planning Days initiative. This ground-breaking program is designed to unite the collective resources of the financial planning community and city governments nationwide to assist those in need of financial guidance through a series of free Financial Planning Day events.

FPANJ will be providing its financial professionals at the event, answering questions on a wide variety of financial topics through brief classroom presentations as well as one-on-one sessions with interested participants. It's the ability to connect more personally with the public that gives the financial professionals the joy of educating people about their money.

"We were thrilled at the response last year - people came prepared with their questions and brought documents for us to review," explained Certified Financial Planner(TM) Milind Shah, who is the event organizer for FPANJ. "We really hope they take the opportunity to meet with us again. It's a privilege to provide this service, promoting financial literacy and helping people out who otherwise may be intimidated about seeking out a financial planner," .

This event provides the opportunity to define the important role financial planners have for everyone, regardless of income. Shah explained that the one-on-one meetings he's had are rewarding on many levels.

"For me, it's satisfying when people seek out our expertise, and that's what events like these are all about. They help underscore our value and elevate our profession as service providers. We are here to help direct people, clarify things for them and empower them to understand and manage their finances," he said.
