My Fiancé, Jonathan, is currently living in Uganda and in need of a visa to travel to Australia where we wish to be married. In lieu of an engagement party we decided to start a crowd funding project to raise the funds needed for the Visa Application Fee. All funds raised will go towards the visa fee and our wedding. God willing, if the fund goal surpasses our needs extra funds will be donated to friends in Uganda who are struggling against poverty.

When two people become engaged the most popular question they are asked is, “So, when’s the big day?”

I have come come to dread this question because our big day depends on Jonathan’s ability to join me here in Australia.

We have actually picked a date, a place and I’ve even got wedding dress plans underway.

Jonathan and I have spent countless hours discussing and planning and saving but it’s not enough. By the time we have saved enough for the visa fee, the government decides to increase it.

Jonathan is a hard working man – a carpenter and mechanic. He also volunteers his time to rescue and rehabilitate young people from a life of begging on the streets.

We are appreciative for all of our friends and family who support our engagement and who have contributed cards of congratulations – these have been collated and will be submitted with the visa application.

We would be supremely grateful if you would be willing to support us financially as well.
