Follow on Google News | Canadian Adventurer and Entrepreneur Mark Jennings-Bates to speak at TEDx KelownaFor many keynote speakers the challenge of speaking at TEDx has less to do with content and more to do with structure.
“It is a great challenge for anybody, including a professional speaker” said Jennings-Bates, adding “Typically I have a pool of resources in terms of stories that I can draw on to help support key points I am trying to make. In this instance, I am restricted by making those points to a hungry audience in 18 minutes.” The organizers of this years TEDx Kelowna have chosen the theme IGNITE - All Change Was Born Of An Idea, a topic that fits well for Jennings-Bates. The Canadian adventurer has been part of world records, several world record attempts and at fifty-two years old decided that it might be fun to learn to run Ultrmarathons and compete in half ironman triathlons. The focus to compete in such events comes from the fact that Jennings-Bates and his wife, Jackie founded and operate a charity to help poor children and families around the world. Rally4Life (www.rally4life.org) The Kelowna event is happening on November 13th at the Rotary Centre for the Arts and tickets are selling fast for the event that includes several exciting and talented speakers.
