New Home Helpers Franchise Brings Quality In-Home Care to Miami-Dade, Broward Counties

By: Home Helpers and Direct Link

MIAMI - Nov. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Sibling team Linette Rivera and Leonel Rodriguez know caring for a family member in need can be a stressful undertaking, especially for small families or families spread across the country. When their father was in hospice, it took a team of five loved ones to keep him comfortable and happy.

“We were part of the fortunate few who were able to split the time and care for him personally.  Even though we were able to accomplish that, it still took a team of five to make it work.  It made us think that, while we were fortunate to be able to do that, there are many who are not able to care for their loved ones full time,” Linette said.

That’s what led the two to open Home Helpers and Direct Link of Dade County. Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor and an automated medication dispenser. Home Helpers and Direct Link of Dade County serves Miami, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens and Miami Lakes as well as the surrounding areas.

Home Helpers and Direct Link offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include laundry, light housekeeping, meal preparation and transportation as well as medication pick-up, respite care and companionship.

“After our experience with our father – and after seeing other families in hospice struggling to manage full-time caregiving – we knew there had to be a better way for families to care for loved ones. That’s why we decided to open this business – so we could be that caring force some families and seniors really need,” Leonel said.

“We want to be the helping hand that allows families to be families instead of caregivers. You should be able to enjoy the time you have with your loved ones and we can help make that possible,” Linette added.

Prior to opening the business, Linette and Leonel, who were both born and raised in the Dominican Republic, worked in the corporate world. Leonel spent more than 20 years as a manager at the largest supermarket chain in Florida, which gave him experience in customer service and employee management. Linette was in the healthcare industry for 17 years, starting with patient care and subsequently climbing to management where she oversaw five medical centers, 10 medical providers and 88 employees.

“We found Home Helpers because we were looking for an opportunity to be business owners and to capitalize on our joint experience while playing an important role in the community.   We are excited to be part of the Home Helpers franchise and eager to serve the senior community in South Florida,” Linette said.

With Home Helpers, each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety, and comfort of their own homes.
