Follow on Google News | Biometrics For Border Control to be addressed at Border Security 2016 next February in RomeSMi (Rome, Italy): The European Association for Biometrics to host an exclusive workshop on “Biometrics for Border Control: Impact of Immigration and the Mobile Society” at SMi Group’s 9th annual Border Security Conference.
By: SMi Group This half-day meeting will provide an overview of the current use of biometrics as a part of border control and an insight into current trends and standards, the various needs for biometrics at borders and the benefits they can bring as well as the potential for further development. Specific subjects that will be discussed include e-gates, paperless boarding and information exchange. Workshop attendees will learn about latest developments in e-gates and paperless boarding, enabled by biometrics, state of the art biometric devices and solutions supporting boarder control processes and information exchange with some of the leading specialists in biometrics. The session will be hosted by Max Snijder, Co-Founder, European Association for Biometrics. Max Snijder is one of the leading independent biometrics experts in Europe. He has extensive experience in managing and participating to European Commission funded projects. He coordinated MTIT, BioTesting Europe and the BEST Network, and participated to EU projects such as BioVision, HIDE, BITE, RISE, Staccato and Crescendo. As a researcher Max Snijder has performed studies for the Dutch Scientific Council for Government Policy (WRR), the Rathenau Institute, the European Commission Joint Research Center and the European Parliament. He lectured at the Center of Excellence-Defence Against Terrorism (CoE-DAT) of the NATO and gives numerous workshops for senior and executive management in the domains of aviation, border control, public administrations and identity found.
