The PEAK TV to Receive Spirit of Volunteerism Award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Nonprofits in the Lehigh Valley are part of the fabric of our community.  The support and care they offer touch so many; any story about the Valley that omitted their presence would be incomplete.  But who is telling their story?  Staffs are burdened with the tasks that need to be done, and dollars are spent for the services they offer. Budgets often do not include an allocation for marketing, for spreading the word about what they do and how people can help.  ASR Media Productions, an independent production company and creator of The PEAK TV, set out to change that.

The PEAK TV is a health, wellness, lifestyle, and community program that airs every Sunday at 6:30 PM on WFMZ Channel 69. Part of the show’s mission, as well as the creative team’s, is to give back to the community.  Each week, The PEAK TV features a local nonprofit, their purpose, the people lending a hand and those it benefits.  The production team has spent countless hours learning each nonprofit’s story, planning the narrative, scheduling interviews, filming, and editing to best illustrate and tell the tale.  A different nonprofit is featured in each new episode of The PEAK TV.  The video content created by ASR Media Productions is donated to the nonprofits for use in their development and marketing efforts.

The PEAK TV’s team will be recognized on Wednesday evening at Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley’s Spirit of Volunteerism Awards.  The annual event honors local businesses and employee volunteers who have demonstrated excellence in community service by giving generously of their time and talents to make life better for others and for the community in which we live.  The 13^th annual Spirit of Volunteerism Awards will be held Wednesday, November 4^th at the event center at blue from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

“When I relocated to the Lehigh Valley 11 years ago, I was impressed by the work being done by nonprofits in the area”, said Ashley Russo, Executive Producer for The PEAK TV. “My early Lehigh Valley years were spent working with some of the groups; when the opportunity to produce a regional television program arose, I was determined to do more.”

ASR Media and The PEAK TV has provided this service for over 50 nonprofits in the area – Cops ‘N Kids, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Catholic Charities, Children’s Home of Easton, Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley, Community Bike Works, Boys and Girls Club, Mary’s Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, LifePath are a few that have all benefited from The PEAK TV storytelling.

Spirit of Volunteerism Awards will be presented to Just Born; Mark Pesavento of B. Braun Medical Inc.; Olympus Corporation of the Americas; Jeff Worman of Pro Compressor; Liberty Property Trust; Bryan Lobach of Embassy Bank; Potts Family of Potts’ Doggie Shop; The PEAK TV.

In addition, the following nominees will be recognized at the event with the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a program created to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service: Lois Frey, Knoll Furniture; Christopher Sherry, Walmart Dotcom Fulfilment Center; and Molly Albano, student at Muhlenberg College.
