Chevrolet of Homewood Giving Away Brand New CarOne family in need will win a new Chevy Sonic this holiday season
“We don’t want this to just be luck,” said Steve Phillipos, Owner Principal of Chevrolet of Homewood. “We want to find a needy family. This would help them financially, it would help them mentally, and it would give them that boost that says, 'I’m lucky, and I matter.'” The first round of submissions will begin on November 1st, with contestants writing an essay on their current situation and how winning a Chevy Sonic would change their lives. Story submissions will close November 20th. After a voting session from November 21-30, the top five essays will move on to the second round, where contestants will be asked to create a video by December 3rd to demonstrate why they would be most deserving. Contestants can create the video themselves, or visit the dealership for assistance. Finally, the public will vote for their favorite video, and the winner will be selected on December 24th. Chevrolet of Homewood regularly gives back to the community, participating in events to benefit breast cancer awareness, the USO of Illinois, and more, while regularly offering discounts to educators and military personnel. This giveaway is one way the dealership hopes to help those who have been hit hardest by the recession. “We want people to come out and tell us: you’re going to pick the most needy person,” said Phillipos. “We all know somebody that needs something, and may be too afraid to say anything.” The first round of submissions opens on November 1st, with the grand prize winner being selected on December 24th. Essays may be submitted online at HomewoodChevyCares.com or mailed to Chevrolet of Homewood at 18033 Halsted St, Homewood, IL 60430, attention: Homewood Chevy Cares Essay Contest.
