HomeAid and CBRE Team Up at Annual Build Day
DETROIT - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- HomeAid and CBRE have again teamed up to provide homes and shelter to those in need through CBRE’s Shelter Program and HomeAid’s Care Day Program. For the past six years, CBRE has been a national sponsor of HomeAid America and has partnered with HomeAid’s chapter in Southeastern Michigan to take part in volunteer workdays to provide minor upgrades and repairs to transitional housing facilities in Detroit.

On September 10th and 11th, over 40 volunteers from CBRE’s Detroit office participated in their annual BuildDay with HomeAid Southeastern Michigan to benefit Grace Centers of Hope (GCH). Grace Centers of Hope is committed to positively changing the lives of the homeless by creating a sense of belonging within a community that can truly be called home.

The event took place at the GCH Interdependent Living Community. Volunteers painted the interior walls of two GCH transitional homes and the exterior decks of two other transitional homes, and improved the area’s landscaping.  Special recognition goes to CBRE Detroit Office Managing Director John Latessa, Jr. and Office Operations Manager Kathie Nantais for their efforts in making this event an outstanding success.

“It feels good to see the difference a little hard work can make for homeless families. CBRE is proud to make a difference in the lives of so many in need through its volunteer efforts with HomeAid,” stated Kathleen Thompson, the Director of the CBRE Foundation, a nonprofit, public benefit corporation that funds the company’s philanthropic initiatives.
