SEOUL, South Korea - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- The RAPAEL Smart Rehabilitation System combines wearable bio-feedback devices and software, which are designed to improve the recovery process for patients with central nervous system disorders.

NEOFECT’s first product, RAPAEL Smart Glove, brings gamification into rehab exercise for stroke survivors, while the software analyzes the data and provides training tasks based on the patient’s activity level. The device has been employed by a number of major hospitals in South Korea since December of 2014 and was also featured at REHACARE, the largest rehabilitation exhibition in Europe.

Now, NEOFECT is expanding their product line by adding RAPAEL Smart Body, and RAPAEL Smart Kids.

RAPAEL Smart Body is an active upper-limb rehab solution for people who have suffered damage to their central nervous system, such as strokes or spine injuries. Its eight sensors recognize and evaluate the patient’s range of motion, adding unprecedented accuracy to the measurement. The software gathers real time data, and provides visual monthly progress reports. It also features a rehabilitation algorithm, which creates tasks based on the patient’s activity level and provides training content via virtual reality and motion capture. The system motivates patients by offering them fun gamefication and visualization, as well as assists doctors in designing effective rehabilitation plans.

RAPAEL Smart Kids is a new version of the RAPAEL Smart Glove created specifically for children between the ages of 4 and 15. It provides game content to stimulate both the visual and auditory senses, thus causing brain plasticity and muscle retention in kids with cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, or developmental disorders. The device offers doctors assessment and analysis tools. Additionally, it helps children to focus everyday activities with more fun by playing rehab games.

“I experienced the hardship of caring for a family member after a stroke firsthand. So, I realize the financial burden of the recovery process, which many families cannot afford. We, at NEOFECT, have created a cost effective and efficient rehabilitation system to aid those in need.” Said Ho-Young Ban, the CEO of NEOFECT.

According to a recently published study (http://www.marketresearchreports.biz/analysis-details/reh...), the rehabilitation robot market is expected to grow dramatically, reaching $1.8 billion by 2020. A gaming aspect has brought significant improvement to the process by stimulating the desire to conquer the disability, initiating actions, and providing real time feedback.

After registering the Smart Glove on the MFDS in Korea, and FDA in the U.S.in 2014, NEOFECT is expanding its presence in Europe by receiving the ISO 13485 and the CE mark in October of2015.RAPAEL Smart Body, and RAPAEL Smart Kids will be launched in early 2016. The company’s founders believe that the system will greatly improve the rehabilitation process, helping millions of people to get back their lives.
