The Association of Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education Honors Educators at Districts Level

AMMAN, Jordan - Nov. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Amman, Jordan (November 2015) — Under the patronage of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of  Education Dr. Mohammad Thneibat, the Association of Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Excellence in Education (QRAEE) held a ceremony on Saturday, October 31st to honor teachers who stood out in their District for their performance this year earning certificates of recognition and appreciation.

QRAEE handed out certificates of appreciation to 108 teachers; 32 of whom qualified to the field visit phase and 76 recognized at a district level.  The ceremony appreciated teachers coming from various districts symbolizing the vast presence of dedication and distinguished performance across the Kingdom. The association held this ceremony before the Annual Royal ceremony scheduled for mid-December to also celebrate 10th anniversary for QRAEE.

Aiming to elevate the reputation of the education profession and motivate teachers to excel, the Association launched the districts award in 2013. District honorees are selected after the pre-field visit interviews. Looking at this year, a total of 946 teachers applied to the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Distinguished Teacher, 225 of whom were qualified to the pre-field visit interviews. Seventy six have been recognized at the district level, while 32 have been qualified to the field visit phase.

Commenting on the ceremony, QRAEE Director Ms. Lubna Touqan congratulated the honorees, highlighting the Association’s role in enriching the educational sector in the kingdom.

“These educators have proven their leading role within their districts, and we will continue to support them in order to excel and grow into community leaders,” Ms. Touqan added, saying that this symbolic recognition will motivate them to excel further and become ambassadors of the award and of excellence in education.

The Districts of Al Rusayfah, Al Ramtha and Amman entailed the highest number of honorees compared to other districts, followed by Marka. It is worth mentioning that it is the first time for the three of: Directorate of Military Culture,  Bani Obaid, and Petra Districts to reach the districts awards ceremony.

Beside the honoring ceremony, light was shed on one of the distinguished educators’ projects; “My Environment is beautiful”.  Launched in 2008, the initiative aims to serve school environments to create a healthy educational atmosphere with a beautiful and hygienic environment enriching the students' educational experience and helping in spreading a culture of excellence and creativity.

“We are proud of the  enthusiasm and pioneering ideas coming from our distinguished educators. , Today was a great opportunity to display one of Award Ambassadors programs – “My Environment Is Beautiful”, that we hope to see successfully adapted  by all schools to create  a secure and safe educational environment.” said Ms. Touqan.
