FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Oct. 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Writers all over the country and the world will try to pen a 50,000-word novel over the next 30 days.  It’s all part of the 16th Annual National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), an event meant to give authors of all skill levels the inspiration and tools to write their entire manuscript in just one month (November 1-30). Janie P. Bess, author and president of the Writers Resource Center (WRC), will serve as a local host for the event’s “write-in” sessions where Solano County participants can get any help they may need, meet other writers, and write. The “write-ins” will be held by appointment every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and evening, starting November 4th, at 1745 Enterprise Drive, Fairfield, in room 113. Please call 707-290-5390 to set up a one-on-one or group meeting.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for years,” says Bess. “I am really excited about providing an opportunity for local writers to come together for any support that they may need and a chance to, perhaps for the first time, tell their story. I am hoping lots of Solano County writers will get involved.”

Anyone interested in participating in the event must sign up on the NaNoWriMo website at http://www.nanowrimo.org for rules and other information. Those who submit a 50,000-word work of fiction by the November 30 deadline will automatically win a long list of prizes that have been donated by various national sponsors.  A complete list of prizes will be posted on the website on December first.

National Novel Writing Month is a nonprofit based in San Francisco.  It began in 1999 when only 21 people took the 50,000-word challenge.  Last year more than 325,000 people in countries and cities throughout the world participated.
