BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The SAT is arguably the most important test a high school student will take in their pre-college career. For decades this standardized test has been the bane of aspiring college applicants. It serves as a proving ground, and gives colleges and universities across the country the chance to set every student on a level playing field and determine the best of the best. March 2016 marks the debut of the newest version of the SAT, and private tutors across the country have been gearing up for its release for many months now. One such company, SAT Prep Group, is excited to utilize their new curriculum for tackling the test, including innovative methods for handling the math, reading, and essay portions.

When the new SAT goes into use in March it will mark the biggest change in the test in 30 years. Changes include eliminating the penalty for guessing, scratching vocabulary that students will never use again, and an all-new essay section that is now optional for the first time. In addition, College Board, the creators of the new SAT, are bringing back the old testing scale of 400-1600.

In order to properly prepare students for the challenges of this new test, the team at SAT Prep Group has been hard at work crafting an effective approach for high school juniors and seniors. New math concepts are being utilized, including analyzing graphs. New reading techniques for the reading section have been generated in response to brand new reading question types. Finally, the team also created a new approach to the essay section – they’ve streamlined the procedure, putting a premium on making the essay writing less intimidating.

Company founder and CEO Steve Kirshenbaum has been helping students achieve high scores on the SAT since 2001. He spoke about the new SAT, and how his team has risen to the task, “We see this new SAT as a challenge, and one that we are happy to take head on. Our tutors have put tremendous effort into understanding the nuances of this test and we are confident our strategies will pay off. The elimination of the guessing penalty is a pronounced step forward in the evolution of this test, and we can only hope that with our instruction students will take full advantage of the new test layout.”

SAT Preparation Group began in 2001 by Steve Kirshenbaum as a response to the poor state of the conventional test prep industry. Since its inception, their coaches have helped 1,400+ students find their true potential, increasing scores by an average of 336. Their holistic test prep is a fusion of life habits and academic skills scientifically proven to improve brain function, alertness, and retention.
