Snell & Wilmer Attorneys Volunteer at the 16th Annual Boys and Girls Club Scream Scram

DENVER - Oct. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that nearly 40 of its attorneys, staff members and their friends and family volunteered to staff the 16th Annual Scream Scram for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver on October 16.

Scream Scram is a Denver Halloween tradition, which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. Each year the Scream Scram draws more than 1,200 participants at Washington Park. Halloween lovers and serious racers come dressed to be entered in a costume contest on the Orange Carpet and to run a “spooky 5k race” benefitting the programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver is to inspire and enable young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Sixteen safe, positive neighborhood centers and a residential summer camp provide after school, weekend and summer programs for young people between the ages of 6-18 years old.

For the fifth year in a row, the Denver office of Snell & Wilmer assisted by providing all on-site volunteers with jobs ranging from registration, a welcoming crew escorting participants down the Orange Carpet, directing runners along the race course and providing water to participants, as well as handing out favors to racers after the run at a Trick-Or-Treat Street expo featuring refreshments, prize drawings and costume award presentations.

The Denver office of Snell & Wilmer has a long standing relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver and participates in a variety of support programs which actively interact with the children. Roger Cohen, a partner in the Denver office, emphasized that Scream Scram not only benefits the children of the Boys & Girls Clubs, but Snell & Wilmer employees as well. “It’s wonderful to be involved in an activity that allows us to interact with the kids, and at the same time it encourages our employees to collaborate and work together for a great cause,” Cohen said. Cohen and receptionist Meghann Maguire coordinated all volunteer efforts within the Denver office.
