Digital media site Swener.com launches short stories section

NOIDA, India - Oct. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Swener.com, a digital media website of Noida-based company Content Interactive, has launched the short stories section, allowing registered users to publish their original short stories, without editorial intervention.

As a platform, swener.com allows registered users/readers to get their original content [in the form of articles/images/videos] published on the site. Now, the new section would let users to also contribute short stories on the website.

Elaborating on the launch, Asha Dey, Editor-in-chief of swener.com says, “We have been receiving many queries from our users for allowing them to post fictions and stories on the platform. Assessing the high-demand and change in editorial strategy for allowing certain content to be published without editorial intervention, we decided to launch the short stories section. Plus, we have a rich heritage of storytelling and almost every Indian could narrate a similar story in 100 different ways. We want to leverage the inner story-teller in every Indian.”

Roopa Gupta, Founder of swener.com, however has a very different take on the launch, “I love to read short stories – Saki, Oscar Wilde, Anton Chekhov are some of my favourite authors. Being a literature major, I have always found short stories intriguing, quickly consumable, while leaving a lasting after-taste. Reason why, I thought, user-generated short stories would provide a pleasant break from other generic content and curated content that have become the flavour of the season these days.”

All the stories would be published on Swener.com as is, without any editorial intervention. The word limit for the short stories would be under 2,000 words. Only original stories, which are not published anywhere else, would be entertained. To publish short stories on Swener.com, one needs to register on the site and post the story.
