Oct. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- An evening of fun and entertainment, and the opportunity to help Michigan veterans and their families in need, awaits as the Bavarian Inn Restaurant (http://www.bavarianinn.com/) hosts a “Fundraising Auction Supporting Michigan’s Soldiers” on Friday, Nov. 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The event, to benefit the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, a Michigan-based charity, will include a silent and live auction, Hors d’oeuvres, and a cash bar. Auction prizes will include dinner packages, hotel stays, gift certificates, patriotic quilt and crafts, and much more – all donated by area businesses. In addition, a representative from the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund will be on hand to present information and answer questions.

Auction goers will even have a chance to place bids on the Bavarian Inn’s very own mannequin mascot, “Fritz,” who’s been delighting restaurant guests for nearly 30 years, and is now eligible for retirement to a good home.

According to the Bavarian Inn’s Kathy Walstad, chairperson for the auction, “The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund, this year’s charity for our annual Company Giving Program, is helping vets who are waiting for claims to be settled and many have no income. It’s important to note that 97 cents of every dollar is going to our Michigan warriors to help them with their medical bills, living expenses, utility shut-off notices or whatever is needed to quickly help them once they return home.”

“The Bavarian Inn,” she added, “has many caring team members who give so generously each year to help those in need, with the Bavarian Inn Zehnder family matching most of those funds! We all look forward to an exciting year of giving.”

Tickets for the auction are $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Cash and check payments only are being accepted for auction admission and winning bids. For more information, call (989) 652-9985, extension 3214 or email to kwalstad@bavarianinn.com. Information about the auction may also be found at www.bavarianinn.com.
