LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Oct. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Lindsey Whalen is excited to be able to provide a new fresh, all-natural pet food option for fellow pet lovers in her community through her new local business, Pet Wants-East Louisville.

Pet Wants’ carefully developed proprietary pet food is slow-cooked with fresh, all-natural ingredients. The company has their distributor make the food in small batches once per month so every kibble is guaranteed to be fresh and packed with nutrition. Pet Wants-East Louisville is a franchise of the Cincinnati-based Pet Wants company.

Pet Wants-East Louisville’s mobile pet food service serves central and northeastern Louisville including NuLu, the Highlands, Germantown, St. Matthews, Lyndon, Hurstbourne, Middletown, Crescent Hill, Clifton, Brownsboro Road and Prospect. Whalen is looking forward to opening a retail location in the coming months.

Whalen’s dream to open a Pet Wants store all started when she and her boyfriend Damon started feeding Pet Wants’ food to her 7-year-old Min-Pin Tyson. Tyson has chronic pancreatitis and the Pet Wants food made a big difference for him.

“I have been a loyal Pet Wants customer for more than two years and I absolutely love the company and the business concept. My dog is like my child and I want the absolute best for him – I know others feel the same way. When I found out Pet Wants was franchising, I knew it was the perfect fit for me. This is an opportunity to own an amazing business that will allow me not only to get involved with the pet community, but also the Louisville community as a whole,” Whalen said.

Although it’s a franchise, Whalen, a Louisville resident, is the owner and operator of Pet Wants-East Louisville. Whalen earned her undergraduate degree in business from the University of Kentucky and her MBA at the University of Louisville.  She also serves on the board of the local chapter of the National Association of Women MBA’s.

Pet Wants originally launched in Cincinnati in 2010. Owned by Michelle Hobbs, the company was built to provide proprietary crafted, fresh, slow-cooked, all-natural pet food delivered to customers through a retail store and a convenient, home-delivery service. Hobbs turned the business into a franchise in 2015 with the help of Franchise Funding Group, an investment and franchise-development company designed to help entrepreneurs scale their companies nationally as franchise systems. Pet Wants-East Louisville is the second local Pet Wants franchise in the nation.

“People are more and more concerned about what they’re putting into their own bodies, but also about what they are feeding their pets. Our pets are members of our families and we want to make sure they’re getting what they need. Pet Wants’ food is fresh, nutritious and the best your pet can get,” Whalen said. “I look forward to showing you what sets us apart.”

About Pet Wants: Pet Wants was started by Michele Hobbs out of love for her pets and frustration. Veterinarians were unable to help relieve her dog’s painful skin allergies. After doing much research, Michele discovered the national dog food brand she trusted was not fresh, not all-natural, and lacked sufficient nutrition...and when pet food sits in warehouses and store shelves for months and months…it loses even more nutritional value. She was committed to developing a better solution for all dogs and cats. Their food is exclusively crafted…fresh, healthy, slow-cooked, all natural, sugar-free, no fillers, and no animal by-products. They source only the best salmon, chicken, lamb, brown rice, and other ingredients. Fresh ingredients make for better food… and better health for pets. And since they never use corn, wheat, soy or dyes, the common pet health problems associated with these ingredients are no longer worries. Their fresh food is conveniently delivered to the customer within weeks of production, not months. Roughly half of Pet Wants products are sold through their store and half through their convenient, home-delivery program.  You can learn more at www.PetWants.com.
