Convergent 3D Announces 3D Display Without Glasses Technology

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - Oct. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Convergent 3D is pleased to announce the release of its new 3D without glasses technology. The advanced technology allows the conversion of 2D into 3D in real time, using C3D's proprietary software algorithms. Using the new 3D technology no glasses are required and the result is a more user-friendly experience. The new 3D technology without glasses is useful for various screens and cameras. Any single camera results in three-dimensional views, thanks to the innovative technology.

The software technology uses the incoming video signal and displays it through a lenticular lens to create the realistic 3D effect without the use of 3D glasses. The video feed can be from a camera in real time or static. The transformation from two-dimensional to three-dimensional happens in real time. The viewer sees depth, adding to the experience. The technology works with a number of cameras, including video, color, black-and-white, infrared, thermal and night vision.

The technology mimics the way the human eyes work. There are two separate views, one coming from each eye. The two-dimensional views are converted to full-motion, three-dimensional views in real time. The lenticular display lens eliminates the need for special glasses. There is no longer the need for multiple cameras to acquire three-dimensional views. This is a cost savings in many industries.

In the transportation industry, 3-D views are useful in heavy construction equipment, commercial fleets, tug boats and barges and first responders. To acquire a 3D experience with a single camera is a significant cost savings, such as in search and rescue operations using robots. C3D offers a portable Driver Vision Enhancement system which can be installed into any type of vehicle, which can significantly reduce the likelihood of an accident.

Simulations and games are more realistic with the use of 3D software. Conversion of 2D to 3D in the movie industry Home television sets can be provided with the technology to convert to 3D. The medical industry can also gain from being able to see true depth, such as in surgical procedures.
