Joe Rojas Hired by Cavignac & Associates as Risk Control Advisor

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Joe Rojas has been named a risk control advisor at Cavignac & Associates, announced Jeffrey W. Cavignac, CPCU, ARM, RPLU, president and principal of the San Diego-based risk management and commercial insurance brokerage firm.

         In his new position, Rojas has overall responsibility for evaluating, facilitating and delivering risk control and safety strategies designed to lower clients’ overall cost of risk. Specifically, he will be the liaison with local, state and federal regulatory agencies on safety- and health-related issues; provide loss control services that address client safety and health needs; serve as a resource for accident investigation and reporting best practices; identify exposures and assist with the implementation of recommended programs and training; assist with development of procedures to manage claims, safety and risk management issues; develop loss control service schedules; and work collaboratively with workers’ compensation claims specialists and claims coordinators to identify client trends and develop strategies that reduce claims frequency and severity.

         Rojas brings to Cavignac & Associates seven years of combined experience in the areas of risk management, health and safety.  Previously he served as a senior loss control consultant for Keenan & Associates in Torrance, Calif., where he was charged with identifying client risk exposures, advising on resolution strategies and reviewing clients’ safety programs.  His clientele there included K-12 schools, municipalities, manufacturing firms and construction companies.

         During the four years prior, he was the senior health and wellness coach for Wellness Coaches USA in Los Angeles, where among other things he conducted client safety training, served as the liaison between clients and Cal and FED OSHA, performed accident investigation and root cause analysis, and managed client wellness programs.  Additional career experience includes having served as an environmental health and safety consultant for EHS First, also in Los Angeles.

         Rojas attended California State University at Fullerton, where he received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology.  He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and holds a Performance Enhancement Specialist designation from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

         Born and raised in Los Angeles, Rojas currently resides in downtown San Diego.  He is an avid sports enthusiast and also enjoys traveling, exercising, equestrian activities, country music and wine tasting.
