Royal Neighbors of America Awards Surprise $10,000 Grant to Women With Purpose

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - Oct. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- When Jane Morse-Swett worked as the Foundation Director and office manager for an Oncology group in Pinella County she saw the financial, as well as the medical hardships patients endured while undergoing cancer treatment. After she retired from her position she discovered many local cancer patients were not getting the non-medical help they needed so she founded her own organization, “Women With Purpose.”

Thanks to a $10,000 Nation of Neighbors^SM  grant from Royal Neighbors of America, one of the oldest, women-led life insurers in the U.S., “Women With Purpose” can provide additional aid to the women in the Clearwater/Tampa Bay community.  Some assistance is as simple as shopping for groceries or providing a gas card so the patient has enough fuel go to her doctor appointments.

Morse-Swett was surprised with the check at a recent fundraising event, Catwalk for a Cause at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. She was nominated by her friend, Tamica Gooden, an underwriter at Royal Neighbors of America.

Nation of Neighbors^SM  provides financial support to empower women to achieve their full potential, realize a sense of renewed personal growth, and give back to their communities. Ten grants of $10,000 each are being awarded to women across the U.S. More than $1.7 million has been distributed since the program was launched in 2007.
