Follow on Google News | Civil Air Patrol Collecting Worn U.S. FlagsThe 399th Composite Squadron is collecting worn American Flags for retirement in a formal ceremony on Flag Day.
Squadron members will be available to collect your worn and tattered flags on Sunday, October 25, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Stop & Shop, located on 44 Lake Ave. Ext., Danbury, Connecticut, across the street from Western Connecticut State University's Westside Campus. This service is free of charge. Small U.S. Flags will be available for children who stop by our post. Brochures will also be available for prospective cadet and senior members. Teens can join CAP as a cadet if they are at least 12 years old and before their 19th birthday. Cadets can stay in the program until they turn 21 as long as they have not entered active duty and are enrolled in a school. There are many volunteer positions in CAP for adult members.
