Martial Arts for Life of New Providence, NJ Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Martial Arts for Life is celebrating a decade of serving New Providence NJ, Berkeley Heights NJ, Summit NJ and surrounding ares.
 
BERKELEY HEIGHTS, N.J. - Oct. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- In 2015, Martial Arts for Life celebrated its 10th year of serving New Providence NJ, Berkeley Heights NJ, Summit NJ and surrounding areas.

Founded in 2005 by Richard and Michelle Brugger, Martial Arts for Life is a family oriented martial arts school that offers classes for men, women, and children. The martial arts academy is committed to patiently helping everyone who enters their program develop leadership skills, integrity, focus and self-discipline in every aspect of their lives.

Martial Arts for Life is a proud member of Martial Artists Against Bullying, an international organization devoted to ending bullying once and for all. The school is one of 300 Martial Arts schools around the world that have pledged to teach anti-bullying curriculum in their local communities as part of the Martial Artists Against Bullying (MAAB) initiative.

Martial Arts for Life was featured in the February 2014 issue of SUCCESS Magazine, a national business publication. The magazine’s primary focus is in providing information and content in the area of self-improvement and personal development. The article, titled “Goal Driven,” discussed how Martial Arts for Life implemented materials from the Success for Teens program in order to educate their students on key success principle

In May 2015, the martial arts academy received a proclamation from the New Providence Borough Council for the positive impact the school has had on the local community over the past decade. Mayor Morgan, who presented the proclamation stated, “I have seen what they have done for the youth and the adults of this community. It’s really an honor for me to do this.” The Mayor went on to say, “All the students that you bring in, you teach them responsibility, respect, discipline – things that I think we all agree that are lacking in our society today.

In June, 2015 Martial Arts for Life built a team of 145 members and raised $11,968 for the NJ Sharing Network 5k held in New Providence, NJ. The martial arts academy has participated in the event since 2012 and has raised over $37,000 for the Sharing Network Foundation and had over 500 participants in this charity event.

Always active in the local community, co-owner Michelle Brugger Michelle was nominated President of the New Providence Business & Professional Association in 2011 and currently maintains the position today. She is also a board member of the New Providence Downtown Improvement District.

Co-owner Rich Brugger commented, “We owe all our success to the local community and our loyal students. We appreciate all the support we have received over the last decade and it has been our absolute pleasure to share the martial arts with so many local families.”
