CHICAGO - Oct. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Residents in Chicago’s Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood and around Orland Park who take care of older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia are invited to attend special programs offered by two of the area’s leading continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs).

The first meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when a short film called “Complaints of a Dutiful Daughter” will be shown by Smith Village’s memory support coordinator Diane Morgan.  The subject is the journey film-maker Deborah Hoffman’s mother takes with dementia and how she copes with it. Smith Village is at 2320 W. 113th Place, in the Beverly/Morgan Park area of Chicago. To reserve your place, please call 773-474-7300 or send an email to familyandfriends@smithvillage.org.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at Smith Crossing, 10501 Emilie Lane (enter at 104th Avenue and 183rd Street), director of resident services Amie Swim and social services director Amy Majcina will lead an hour-long open forum discussion. It will touch on all the things you’ve questioned by Googling or researching Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. To reserve your place, please call 708-326-2300 or email to familyandfriends@smithcrossing.org.

Light refreshments will be served before both meetings end at 7:30 p.m.
