A Global Genomics Service Provider, MOgene expands Services with PacBio

ST. LOUIS - Oct. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- St. Louis Company Sharpens Genomics Focus

MOgene LC, a full service genomics service provider, announced today the addition of PacBio RS II. The new sequencer will further expand the global provider’s a menu of services located in the St. Louis facility at the Bio Research & Development Growth (BRDG) Park at the Danforth Plant Science Center.

“MOgene is continually striving to become a one stop shop for genomics services,” said Shaukat Rangwala, senior vice president, MOgene LC. “Expanding our service offerings allows us to partner with our customers and provide high quality and cost effective research solutions.”

The PacBio RS II sequencer has the ability to sequence single molecule with 20kb plus read lengths. This process allows for a better de novo genome assembly to finish genomes in order to more fully identify, annotate and decipher genomic structures; full-length transcript analysis to improve annotations in reference genomes, characterize alternatively spliced isoforms in important gene families, and find novel genes; targeted sequencing to more comprehensively characterize genetic variations; and DNA base modification identification to help characterize epigenetic regulation.

The St. Louis genomics company has a CLIA-certified lab that offers world class genomic services including Real Time PCR, RNA/DNA Isolation, Agilent-certified microarray services, Sequence Capture using Agilent SureSelect and NimbleGen SeqCap, targeted enrichment using Fluidigm Access array, NextGen sequencing services MiSeq, NextSeq & HiSeq Platform, as well as complete bioinformatics from experimental design to publication ready analysis.

MOgene continues to expand its services to their customer base by recently including CLIA-certified, Agilent and Illumina certification.
